Professor Alexander MacKenzie Johnston OBE BVM&S DVetMed FRSH Dip ECVPH HonFRCVS joined the practice in January 2006. Mac Johnston graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1968 and worked in large animal practice in Scotland before joining the staff of the Royal Veterinary College in 1979. He was elected to Honorary Fellowship of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1997, in recognition of special eminence in and services to the cause of veterinary science. He is the author, and has contributed chapters, of a number of books including The Manual for the Performance Horse Owner and his Equine Medical Disorders (now in the UK second edition with a German edition and a Brooke Animal Hospital edition for India and Pakistan). Mac works part-time for our practice as a senior consultant.
